Waterproof Chic

Yesterday as I walked home from work in the pouring rain in my leather biker jacket I realised that the outfit which felt "together" and "chic" this morning did not feel the same in the pouring rain, particularly as I had had to borrow an abandoned umbrella from work which had seen better days!

So this evening I set off browsing for a shorter-length waterproof jacket which will look just as good in dry and wet weather.  There are not many about yet but I have managed to find a couple of fabulous options.

Let's dive into the inspo pics first..courtesy of Pinterest..

Here are the two which I have decided upon.. the only difficulty now is deciding which one to keep..maybe both?! We have enough damp, chilly weather to justify two don't we?

Uniqlo x JW Anderson Light Down Jacket £89.99
This collab is worth checking out - I love the ruffled skirts.

Zara Water Repellent Fabric Navy Jacket £69.99

Things That Make Me Go Yay! : Bargain Cashmere

Often when I'm browsing the internet I come across things that make me go "Yay!" to myself (usually in the early hours of the morning), and I make a mental note to write a post about them at some time in the future.  Then, guess what?, I usually forget all about them.... Well folks, that was the old me.  I am now making an actual note of any such occurrences to ensure I let my lovely readers in on the secrets.

Style Steal

A Style Album by Lou and Em is a favourite blog read of mine and is a great source of inspiration for easy to wear, chic outfits.  Many of their pieces are way out of my price range but with a little effort it is quite easy to recreate them with lower cost items. Here's one I have recreated recently..

This is Louise Redknapp looking fabulous in black, denim and leopard.

A touch of Camel...

...for Hump Day.

So, as this transitional weather is set to continue for a little while longer yet, I am looking at ways to introduce some colour into my otherwise monotone wardrobe by adding a couple of lightweight knits in classic colours.  A few weeks ago I purchased this pink one which looks great with black, khaki, grey and blue jeans/trousers. The next on my list is a camel one

Hidden Gems at...

..Uniqlo!

It's been a while since I've browsed Uniqlo. It's about a year since I purchased a couple of their bargainacious cotton/cashmere mix sweaters, which saw me through last year's Winter/Spring transition and were a welcome addition to my wardrobe during our not so warm English Summer too! So, prompted by the lovely Jane from My Midlife Fashion last Friday, I popped over for a blouse (well, shirt actually) and browse and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. Here's my edit of the best bits...
