My Best Buys for Keeping Warm this Winter

Well, I've finally got my Blog mo-jo back after Christmas. It has taken a few weeks but here I am.

I have been running a few ideas through my head over the past few weeks of Blog silence and this morning I finally decided that my first post of 2016 would be about the lovely snuggly purchases I have made over the last few months. The ones that are keeping me going through this damp, cold and frosty (finally!) January.

Let's start with loungewear/nightwear...

This piece from M&S a few months ago, is fabulous for lounging on the sofa and also sooo cosy for sleeping in. Unfortunately it's sold out online. But...

...This combo looks like it might be a good alternative

Or this one from ASOS

And on my feet, these super cosy sheepskin slippers (thanks Santa!).  Now in the Sale at House of Fraser.  Worth the investment, plus they have proper soles so are great for nipping out to the bins/garage. Just be careful not to spill anything on them ;)

If extra warmth is needed I wrap up in this snuggly extra large scarf from H&M - a birthday gift from a lovely friend.

Unfortunately it's all sold out online but this one from ASOS looks like it should do the trick.

This teddy style coat (thanks for the inspo Susie Soso) picked up in the Warehouse Sale is a step up from my usual day to day down coat which is starting to look a little shabby now.

Paired with these IKKII Sheepskin Boots picked up in the Hush Sale, bring on the cold snap I say.

Underneath I'll be wearing this Snowflake sweater from the GAP Sale which looks as good with jeans as it does with a skirt or dress. The price has reduced further too, so pop over and grab yourself a snuggly bargain.  Just to warn you, don't buy if you're sensitive to a little itchiness - I always wear a thin polo-neck (try this one from Mango Outlet UK) underneath to prevent itchiness and for extra warmth so it doesn't bother me. Also available in Cream.

On my legs I'll be sporting these Brooklyn Joggers also from GAP.  These may also be a little itchy to start with but persevere, they become extremely comfortable after wearing and washing a couple of times.

Or these black waxed high waisted jeans from the Boden Sale which sadly are all sold out in Black except for a size 6. The navy are still available in several sizes though if you fancy giving them a try.  I'm loving navy and black together this season so would definitely recommend.

But these from New Look are a great (and cheaper!) alternative.

Admittedly I have made a few other purchases over the last few weeks, all from the Sales of course. Most of these didn't make the grade, so were sent back (M&S suede skirt to name one). I'll be back in the next few days with the ones that did earn a place in my wardrobe.

Until then,

Keep warm and stylish,

Sue xx
