Summer Basic: The Pale Blue Shirt

Yesterday afternoon when the sun finally decided to shine for more than 5 minutes I got pretty hot after the school run, so I changed into a pair of denim distressed shorts to cool myself down, and reached for a grey tee to go with them.  However the grey tee showed off more lumps and bumps (with my low rise denim shorts) than I liked even just for wearing around the house, and so did the rest of the tees in my drawer (yes, one of those I've got nothing to wear moments!); eventually my eyes landed on this pale blue shirt which I bought in the Sale last year from H&M...

H&M Cotton Shirt £14.99 here
Nothing special you may think, but it is to me.  It is cool in the sunshine and extremely versatile, looking just as fab with skirts, culottes (I wore mine for an interview recently with a pair of black culottes) ,jeans (white, blue or black) and of course shorts. Also, come Autumn, it will look chic worn with a navy blazer and jeans. The long sleeves add extra protection too in the sunshine. Plus, the first time I wore it back in September I was actually stopped in the street by a lady asking me where it was from - praise indeed for a basic, low-cost piece.

Whilst searching for this online at H&M I discovered it is also available in pale pink which would look great against tanned skin, at the bargain price of £9 here

I also found this blue linen alternative, also in the sale at £17 here. here's a pic

This one is also available in white here

Enjoy the sunshine - long may it last!
