Shopping for Shorts...

Shorts are such tricky things to buy when you're over 40 and a mum of 3. Pre-kids I could just choose any pair and they'd fit fine. Those days have long gone... so when I hear fellow bloggers singing the praises of a pair of shorts I have to sit up and listen.

The Boden Chino has been praised highly by several of my favourite bloggers - it is available in 4" and 9" inside leg so you can choose how much thigh to flash, plus it comes in 14 different colours too to match your Summer wardrobe, woohoo! And it has a high waist to cover that mummy tummy and provide a sleeker silhouette - lots of boxes ticked!

I am liking this blue and white stripe pair too..

Well from here I started searching for other possible pairs of shorts to tuck into my Summer suitcase and came up with these beauties, which fit perfectly (I did go up a size as this is a tailored fit) and are made in a crisp cotton, perfect for warm Summer days; the scalloped hem draws the eye away from any imperfections on the legs too!

Oasis Sailor Shorts £35 here from ASOS
This Gucci-esque pair of shorts are again a close fit as they are a tailored style so I sized up to ensure comfort on warm days. The high waist ensures the mummy tummy is well hidden and they look fab with casual tees and shirts.

Asos Linen A-Line Shorts in Mint Green £20 here also available in Camel here and Nude here
A great Summer wardrobe staple in a flattering cut.

and a plain looser fit short, still keeping with the high waist

Hush Zoe Shorts £40 here
I bought a pair of Hush Palm Tree print shorts last year in the same style as these and they are so comfortable to wear. Think lounge pants with short legs.

Happy Short Shopping!
