Weekend Wishlist #2

Welcome to another Weekend Wishlist at the High Street Edited Blog.  I trust your week has passed by without a hitch & that you have plans (or no plans - my fave!) for the weekend ahead.
Let's start Saturday with a little browse..

i. luxurious essential

I bought this shower gel  back in March just as we had all been told to stay home.  I couldn't find my usual favourite, but in hindsight that was a very good thing, as this is just wonderful.  Creamy, luxurious and bubbly.  It seems expensive at first but it lasts and lasts - I have used it every day for 4 months and still have over 25% of it left.

Philosophy Pure Grace Shower Creme £19.50

ii. self-care

Keeping cool is so important, especially when visiting the hairdresser with your mask in situ, as I found out yesterday.  It was so warm in there as no air-con is allowed, I honestly felt like I was about to pass out.  I could really have done with one of these..

Sarany Fan £12

iii. treat

reminiscent of seaside rock, this candy-striped shirt from H&M is the perfect swimsuit cover-up.
H&M £9.99
iv.  home

I am obsessed with these pretty linen napkins at Zara Home . They have me dreaming of entertaining in the garden.. their tablecloths are gorgeous too.

Zara Home Napkins £4.99 for 2

v. book

recipe books are such a treat to delve into, and this one by Skye McAlpine is no exception.  It is truly a feast for the soul..the tastebuds and the stomach.

Amazon £21.55

See you on Wednesday for Midweek Musings..

PS. after including the shell bracelet in last week's Weekend Wishlist,  I came across  By Nouck Jewelry  - they have a fabulous collection of jewelery including lots of  summery shell pieces & reasonably priced too.   Swarovski  also have some divine shell pieces with a little bit of sparkle included x

Midweek Musings #2

denim essentials - part 1

the shirt

Do you have a denim shirt in your wardrobe?  If not, it's probably about time you did, as it is a really versatile easy to wear piece that never dates. Plus it can be worn in a variety of ways, both casually and more dressy.

Wear with jeans (yes double denim works folks!  Try varying the shades of denim too), over a dress instead of a cardigan or jacket, with a floral skirt or with sweatpants.  The denim shirt looks fab under a jumper too or thrown over a swimsuit as a beach cover up.

Okay, so it's not denim but I love this white shirt from Other Stories too!

and of course not forgetting Levi's shirts here  and here.  Also,I love this vintage men's shirt.

Weekend Wishlist #1

What better way to start the weekend than to have a cuppa and a little online browse?

Weekend Wishlist will be published every Saturday morning. It's the sister to Midweek Musings which pops up now on a Wednesday.

Both will be similar in format, essentially rounding up pieces that I have come across during the week & sometimes exploring a particular topic (usually clothes related!)

Here goes with Weekend Wishlist #1
(Remember to click on the pic to check out the product x)

i. self-care

I came across this  Organic Nail Nectar by Tropic recently and not only is it really pretty and summery, it works too!

At £8 a bottle it's a perfect little weekend treat.

ii. treat

There is alot of shell jewellery around this season. I've yet to make a purchase, and on researching this post realised that I'm late to the party with most already out of stock. But I've found this little beauty at Other Stories - a fab addition to your Summer bracelet stack.

iii. website recommendation

This is very readable - Kate Watson-Smyth really knows her stuff on interiors. Sign up for a twice weekly drop into your inbox - the perfect read with your morning cuppa.

iv. home

This H&M cushion cover is the perfect way to stylishly ring the changes on your favourite chair.

v. sales purchase

This basket from Mango is reduced to £19.99 in the sale - there's more discount with a £50 or £100 spend too.  All the Loewe vibes at a fraction of the cost. Love it.

Have the best weekend.

Midweek Musings #1

This post is the first in a series of bi-weekly posts - Midweek Musings (to be published on Wednesdays) and Weekend Wishlist (to be published on Saturdays).   Each post will be a selection of pieces (including clothing, homewares, bloggers and articles), sometimes with a theme, sometimes not, that have caught my eye over the week. So, first up:

the white shirt

A white shirt is definitely a wardrobe basic which can be worn throughout the year but really comes into its own in the warmer Summer months.  It's an essential which can be paired with most everything you already own, from jeans to sweatpants, skirts to shorts.  Plus, as it's a blank canvas, it looks polished with any type or colour of jewellery. How easy is that!  Just make sure it has been ironed before you wear it!

Many of the shirts available now on the high street, have a little detail that marks them out from the rest and makes them fun to wear without standing out too much from the crowd - I've included some below. But, whether plain or with a twist, I like to wear mine with high-waisted jeans (may be with a demi tuck), under dungarees or with shorts on a warm day.  They also work well with a sweater or sweatshirt with the collar peeping out or hidden under (you choose!)

Scroll down for some of my favourites, available to buy from the real and virtual high street now:

Also thisthis and this.  Love the look of these jeansthis necklace and these slides.

This post was inspired by a rather lovely white blouse featured in the H&M New Arrivals last week, which hadn't actually arrived at all and now is showing as out of stock! Anyway here's the picture & link:

It does give an option to notify when size back in stock - so may be worth signing up for that if you're interested?

how to wear it?

Not sure how to wear it?  Here is some inspiration for you from pinterest.  I love the black jeans combo.

Back soon,
